guthrie center schoolThe Guthrie Center School Board meets tonight in regular session.

Ken Rasmussen will address the Board to present a report on the district’s fall test scores based on tests administered earlier this school year.

Next, the Board will decide whether or not to approve the district’s physical education exemption policy, which shortens students’ P.E. classes by five minutes.  The Board will also vote on whether or not to approve appointments to the district’s school improvement, career and technology committees.

Then the Board will discuss certified enrollment for the school system for the 2013-14 year.  Superintendent Steve Smith says he expects the enrollment to be slightly down compared to last year.

Finally, the Board will go over their plans for the Iowa Association of School Board’s Convention which is scheduled for November 20th and 21st at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.

As always, the public is welcome to attend School Board meetings, but those wishing to address the Board must be in contact with the Superintendent or School Board Secretary at least a half hour prior to the meeting.

Tonight’s meeting begins at 7pm in the Superintendent’s Office.
