New Greene County Rams head football coach Caden Duncan refers to this week as “Dead Week,” because there are no workouts scheduled. “It’s a good week for the kids and their families to go on vacation and just get away from football for a little while. We come back next week with our Youth, Middle School, and High School Football Camps starting August 5. The high school players will end camp next week at Camp Dodge at Johnston where we’ll stay overnight a couple of nights.”

The coach said the weight room is open early mornings some days this week for those are didn’t go on vacation.

Official practice for football, and all Fall sports, starts in just under two weeks, Monday, August 12. The Greene County football team will play a scrimmage on Friday, Aug. 23 in Alleman vs. North Polk, before starting the season at home in Jefferson vs. Perry on Aug. 30 in the annual “Battle for the Cowbell.”
