Greene County graduated senior Austin Delp went 5-4 on the pitching mound for the 10-23 Rams this Summer. He batted .395, and he played every defensive position there is. He really was a player that did everything!
Head coach John Hupp talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about Austin Delp. “I told him after our loss to Boone that he was what every coach wants in a player. He never would complain about a single thing- no matter what position you put him in the lineup, no matter what spot you put him defensively, he would play it, and play it at a very high level no matter where it was. In fact, Austin played all nine defensive positions at least once in his career, and that’s very rare.”
Delp was named to the first team outfield by Heart of Iowa Activities Conference coaches, and was named a second team pitcher by Class 3A Southwest District coaches belonging to the Iowa Baseball Coaches Association.
