A reminder: the Perry Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the second Friday Fest event of the summer this week.
The headlining band for the event will be local favorites TOAST3R, who will take the stage at the Pattee Park bandshell from 6:30-10 p.m. The band plays a variety of classic rock hits and is known for their high-energy performances. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti advises attendees to bring their own chairs or blankets to the concert, adding that the family-friendly event is easy on the wallet. “It’s really just a chance to get out (and) enjoy the community. It’s free live entertainment, (and) it’s just a lot of fun. So hopefully we’ll have great weather, and it’ll be a nice way to kind of end the summer before we get ready for back-to-school time.”
Pasutti reminds people they are free to bring their own baskets with food and drinks, and that beer and wine are permitted but not in glass bottles. There will also be food vendors at the event, including a grill out by the Perry Firefighters Association and Mexican food from Taqueria Villa. Additionally, Hy-Vee will be supplying free freezer pops to all attendees, and there will be chalk for kids to do some sidewalk art.
