This month’s edition of the Perry Lutheran Homes Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support group is coming up this Tuesday.
The program is led by PLH Chief Care Officer Deb Koelln, who is a certified dementia practitioner and master trainer with a long history of dealing with the illnesses. She will discuss topics that people caring for those that have Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia regularly face, while also addressing the physical and emotional needs of caregivers. Koelln will also offer advice for engaging and enriching the lives of loved ones as the diseases progress. Additionally, she says it’s a great way for people to learn, share, and connect with others who are in similar situations.
There is no cost to join the support group, and no registration is required. This month’s meeting will be held July 30th at 3:30 p.m. at the Perry Public Library. The group meets the last Tuesday of every month, with future events to be held September 24th, October 29th, and November 26th. Anyone with questions can reach out to Koelln by phone at 515-465-5342, or by email at dkoelln@perrylutheranhomes.org.
