Guthrie County Public Health is hosting their annual health fair next weekend, which serves to promote healthy living and inform residents of the different health organizations located in the county.

This year’s fair will be held during Panorama Days from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, August 3rd on Main Street in Panora. Public Health Intern Rachel Rumelhart says they wanted to place an emphasis on mental health this year with the inclusion of Heart of Iowa Community Services, “And then we also have this huge inflatable brain that you can walk through and hopefully that will draw people over. And then inside of it we’re going to have some mental health facts and some info about your brain, so hopefully people can just learn a little bit more about mental health awareness and healthy living and all that together.”

The fair will also include booths from Guthrie County Environmental Health, Guthrie County Hospital, Hospice of the Midwest, Lakeshore Family Dentistry, Springbrook Family Dentistry, and New Opportunities, Inc. Attendees can enjoy free ice cream, fruit, and water and kids will get to make their own visor.
