The City of Yale is seeking to fill a vacant council position.

The vacancy was caused by the passing of 65-year-old Kevin Kirtley. Those interested in being a Councilmember may submit a letter of interest to Yale City Hall by noon on Monday, August 5th. The Council anticipates appointing a successor at their regular meeting on August 6th, who would serve until the next regular election on November 5th. A petition for a special election may be filed with the City Clerk by August 6th or within 14 days after the vacancy is filled. The petition must be signed by at least 15% of those who voted in the last regular election.
