There are a couple more late summer youth activities coming up with the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department.
Kids that are 3-6-years-old are encouraged to participate in the Very Hungry Caterpillar program. It will be held on Thursday, August 1st from 10-11:30am at the Greene County Community Center. The instructor is Rosemary Hoyt and she will lead participants through a series of games and crafts on what it’s like to be a caterpillar. The fee is $15 per child.
Another annual class is the Safety Camp, sponsored by Jefferson Elks Lodge #2306. The class is for kids who are going into kindergarten this fall. Topics that are covered include bus, bicycle, car, electrical, pool, drug/alcohol, stranger, fire, railroad, telephone and animal safety. It will be held from Tuesday, August 6th through Friday, August 9th from 9-11am at the community center.
For more information on either program, or to sign up, call 386-3412 or stop by the community center in Jefferson.
