There was a slight increase in unemployment for the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area in June.

According to Iowa Workforce Development, Greene County had the largest increase from May to June of 0.9-percent to 3.2-percent. The percentage of those without a job in Dallas County went up 0.4-percent to two-percent. Guthrie County has an employment rate in June of 2.6-percent, an increase of 0.3-percent in May.

Both Greene and Guthrie counties are above the state’s average of unemployment in June of 2.4-percent. The national average for unemployment in June was 3.7-percent.
