Applications are now being accepted for Greene County military veterans to attend next year’s Honor Flight to Washington D.C.

Greene County Veterans Services Director Michael Bierl says veterans who served in World War II, Korea or Vietnam are eligible to apply for the May 2020 trip with the Brushy Creek Area Honor Flight program in Fort Dodge. Funding is available for veterans in Greene County. Bierl points out the trip is paid for the veterans, along with a free dinner during orientation and a guest can pay $10.

The flight for this September is full and two Greene County veterans are going, Larry Turner and Richard Smith. Applications for the May 2020 trip can be found at the Greene County Veterans Affairs office in the Greene County Courthouse, or by contacting Bierl at 386-5673.
