The busy summer activity schedule for the Perry Chamber of Commerce continues next week, as they are set to host the second Friday Fest event of the year.
The celebration will be held on August 2nd, once again at the Pattee Park bandshell, and the public is invited to a concert featuring the band TOAST3R. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says the event is a “bring your own basket” set-up, with people free to bring food and drinks of their choosing, including alcoholic beverages. However, she asks that people not bring glass bottles as there will likely be children running around barefoot. There will also be food available for purchase at the event.
Pasutti says the first Friday Fest in June had a lower attendance than she had hoped, but she’s confident this second go around for the concert series will bring people out. “Well for one thing, it is free. So it’s a great opportunity to kind of get out and about (and) see your fellow community members. But also it’s that kind of entertainment aspect of it, where there are things to do here in Perry; fun things for the community. And a lot of our members support it through their sponsorship, so they’re providing this just as much as the Chamber is coordinating it. You know, we believe that this is a good event for the community, and we hope that people partake in it.”
Friday Fest will run from 6:30-10 p.m., and attendees are reminded to bring their own seating. For more information, click the first link below to visit the Facebook event page.
