Tomorrow’s Perry farmers market will include a special bonus for attendees, as the Chamber of Commerce is hosting “Feed the Market.”
Chamber Intern Drew Levan describes what the event entails. “We plan on having Hy-Vee and Fareway there to have a watermelon feed-type of thing, or fruit kabobs. And we’re looking to invite other businesses to come and maybe give free samples, but that’s in the works. But yeah, it’s going to be a great event!”
The Feed the Market event is the second of the larger community events the Chamber plans to hold during this year’s farmers market, the first being Public Safety Day, held in June. The theme for the next event hasn’t yet been decided, but it will be held on August 15th. The farmers market is held every Thursday through the end of September from 4-7 p.m. at Josh Davis Plaza and along 2nd Street in downtown Perry.
