Greene County finished the high school softball season last Wednesday with a first round Class 3A Region 5 loss in State Center to West Marshall. The Rams finished 10-18 after starting the season 0-8. There were just two seniors on the team in Paton-Churdan graduates Jenna Beyers and Megan Carey.
Head Coach Tom Kennedy talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the seniors, starting today with Beyers. “You know she’s just done a great job for us in her five years since her eighth grade year. She’s just an outstanding kid with one of the strongest throwing arms I’ve ever coached. She had some throwing errors, but couldn’t practice throwing very much due to an arm injury since about her sophomore year, so we really had to limit her throwing. It just shows how tough a kid she it because she’s in quite a bit of pain because of it and never missed a game or practice because of the injury. She’s one of the hardest workers we had; a quality player and person who had a great year!”
Tomorrow, the coach will comment about Megan Carey.
