The Greene County Community Center recently underwent an upgrade to an essential system.

Jefferson Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says the Simplex Fire Alarm System was replaced earlier this month. She points out that during their annual inspection last winter, the Simplex inspector mentioned that the 1998 system no longer had replacement parts, and if the system malfunctioned it would have to be replaced.

The JPRD Board decided to get ahead of the problem and approved replacing the system, hiring Chris Durlam to install the new Notifier CPU-320 SYS system. The upgrade was $17,000, which was paid for by a Greene County Community Foundation grant, People Active for Community Exercise and Hotel/Motel Tax funds.
