A three-vehicle wreck on Highway 141 west of Perry Tuesday evening sent one individual to the hospital with minor injuries.
According to Assistant Perry Fire Chief Brian Eiteman, emergency crews were called to the intersection of 141 and Hull Avenue at around 6:15 p.m. The initial investigation of the wreck indicated that a vehicle rear-ended another, sending it into the other lanes where it was hit head-on by a third. The three vehicles involved were a car, SUV, and pickup truck, with the car sustaining the most damage. The SUV wound up in the roadside ditch, and the truck was stopped on Hull Avenue when responders arrived.
Eiteman said firefighters had to extricate the driver of the car using the Jaws of Life, but once freed the individual was able to walk to the ambulance on his own power. The man was transported by Dallas County Emergency Medical Services to Dallas County Hospital with suspected minor injuries. The other individuals involved with the wreck were uninjured. Emergency crews were on scene for around an hour, and during that time both lanes of Highway 141 were closed to traffic.
The circumstances of the wreck are currently under investigation by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office. The Perry Police Department and Perry First Responders also aided at the scene. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
