Don’t forget, tomorrow Perry Lutheran Homes is presenting their second annual “Run Through Time” event, and the public is invited to race for a good cause.

PLH Director of Marketing Mollie Clark says they wanted to hold the event in conjunction with Perry’s Sesquicentennial Celebration, as they both have deep roots in history. In particular, the “Run Through Time” will focus on music history. As participants run, walk, or roll through the untimed event, Clark says they’ll be transported to bygone days thanks to the tunes. “You’ll hear a lot of great music along the run courtesy of Raccoon Valley Radio here! You’ll hear probably music all the way back to the 30’s and 40’s, and then continuing all the way up through the decades until today’s music. And in addition to that, we really want everybody to dress up, if it suits them, in their favorite decade. Some people want to rock out the 80’s, some people might want to go back to the ‘greasers’ era and put on their poodle skirts and leather jackets, or dress up as your favorite band or singer. So just have some fun with it!”

The cost to participate in the “Run Through Time” is $35 per person, though kids age six and under are free. All proceeds will go towards Perry Lutheran Homes and their StepUp! Program, as well as to the weekly senior fellowship meal at the McCreary Community Building. There’s still time to register ahead of the event, but you can also sign up prior to the race at 6 p.m. The run will commence at 7 p.m. from Caboose Park.
