A Redfield man was taken to Methodist West Hospital in Des Moines following a UTV wreck Friday morning.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, at around 9:30 a.m. on June 28th, 76-year-old Laree Feller was operating his 2016 Polaris Ranger down a hill in the east timber area in the 32000 block of Dexfield Road. He went over several ruts in the hillside and lost control of the UTV. He was ejected out the side door of the vehicle, resulting in injuries to his ribs and scrapes on his arms. Feller also possibly sustained a head injury, as he indicated he may have lost consciousness for a time. After the driver was thrown, the UTV continued down the hill until it side swiped a tree and came to rest next to it.

Feller was transported by Dallas County Emergency Medical Services, though his injuries were not expected to be severe.
