With very high temperatures expected this weekend, a heat advisory is now in effect.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the western two-thirds of the state, including Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties. Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 90s with a heat index value close to 105-degrees. The National Weather Service recommends taking frequent breaks, staying hydrated and stay in a cool, shady area whenever possible.

The one to count on for weather-related information is the Raccoon Valley Radio Network.
