With the Fourth of July holiday approaching, a few Guthrie County cities remind residents of their fireworks ordinance.

In the City of Stuart, residents are allowed to sell, purchase, and discharge fireworks from now until July 8th. Fireworks are only allowed to be discharged from 9 a.m.-10 p.m. While Stuart’s ordinance reflects the state code, Guthrie Center and Panora have more restrictions on fireworks. Guthrie Center and Panora residents are not allowed to discharge fireworks without a permit approved by the County Board of Supervisors. Those found setting off fireworks illegally in those city limits are subject to citations or fines. For additional questions contact your respective city hall.
