The investigation continues with the Greene County Sheriff’s office into several connected incidents that occurred this past weekend.

An event was held at Flack River Farms on Saturday, which was sponsored Iowa Chill, which is an entertainment and promotional company. It drew over 1,000 people and Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams previously told Raccoon Valley Radio several arrests were made, including three OWIs, and there was one fatal traffic crash. The Greene County Sheriff’s office, Jefferson Fire and Police departments, Greene County Ambulance and the Iowa State Patrol responded to several incidents between 9pm Saturday to just after 2am Sunday.

The Iowa State Patrol has confirmed that their investigation continues into the traffic-related death of Ronald Kolbeck, but no charges have been filed at this time. Kolbeck hit a bridge rail around 11:57pm Saturday. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Ambulance where he later died.

Greene County Attorney Thomas Laehn tells Raccoon Valley Radio other than what was previously filed for charges, no additional charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is ongoing. He says he won’t have a final decision on any further charges until the investigation has been completed.

Sheriff Williams was contacted by Raccoon Valley Radio for comment and he declined, citing that Laehn has advised him not to comment until the completion of their investigation. We have also reached out to Craig Flack, the owner of Flack River Farms, for comment and he hasn’t returned our requests. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
