Prior to the start of Greene County’s 8-7 softball victory last night in Jefferson over Roland-Story (Story City) on KG98, head boys’ soccer coach Carl Behne stopped by. The Rams were Class 1A State Tournament qualifiers and lost 2-1 in overtime to Regina Catholic of Iowa City in the quarterfinals. The Regals went on to win their third straight crown.

The Rams finished 14-6 in just their second season as a program and the Coach talked about the experience. “Coach Black, the kids, and I, talked about that as a goal, and getting there was a great experience even though we didn’t get as far as we would have liked. I think it left us a little bit hungry to put in the offseason work and get there again next year and go even farther.”
