Proposed site for animal shelter

Organizations continue their efforts in support of donating funds toward building a new animal shelter in Jefferson.

The Community Players of Greene County recently donated $1,100 from their net proceeds of this past April’s production of “Death by Dessert.” The Community Players is looking toward their next performance this fall of Thorton Wilder’s “Our Town.”

The $1.1 million project still has a long journey ahead, having raised close to $400,000. Another group – Amazing Race for Charity, which will have their second annual event on September 7th – has also designated their proceeds to go to the animal shelter project. Monetary donations can be made anytime to the project at Jefferson City Hall. Make checks payable to the City of Jefferson and earmark it for the animal shelter.
