A Monday Ram baseball rainout vs. North Polk was followed by another on Tuesday vs. Manson-Northwest Webster. Both were scheduled to be played at Allensworth Field in Jefferson and the Rams hope the third time is the charm as they are scheduled to host PCM (Monroe) today. Head coach John Hupp told Raccoon Valley Radio the 5:30 p.m. game is a continuation of a suspended contest last month in Prairie City when the game was halted by rain just two batters into the contest. Game two will be the regularly scheduled contest.
The Mustangs have won six games in a row and stand at 9-2 overall and 4-2 in the league while the Rams are 5-12 overall and 2-7 in the conference. The Rams last played on Saturday when they upset Class 2A number six Van Meter by a 2-0 score in the Saydel tournament in Des Moines.
