The ACGC baseball team’s late comeback attempt fell short Monday as they dropped game one of a doubleheader against Ogden 13-4.
Ogden jumped out to an early lead after scoring seven runs in the second inning and two more in the third to go up 9-0 after three. They made it 10-0 with another in the top of the fifth, but ACGC battled back with four runs in the bottom of the inning to avoid the mercy rule. They weren’t able to get anymore though after leaving the bases loaded in the sixth on the way to the loss.
Ben Kingery delivered a big swing in the fifth with a two run double. Newell Rogers reached base safely three times with a single and two walks.
The Chargers continue to look for their first win of the season. Their next opportunity will come Wednesday on the road at East Union.
