The Dallas County Hospital Foundation recently announced this year’s recipients for their scholarship awards.
A total of $8,250 was granted to 10 high school seniors in Dallas County, as well as one college senior. The requirements for the scholarships include having attended or graduated from a high school located in Dallas County, and a plan to major in a healthcare related field. Award winners must also meet specific criteria in academics, extracurricular activities, and volunteer hours. The recipients for 2019 include one student from Dowling Catholic, two from Dallas Center-Grimes, five from Waukee, and two from Woodward-Granger. The college level recipient was Charla Holdren who attends Des Moines University.
Donations for the scholarships were obtained from a variety of events throughout the year, including the winter and spring gift basket auctions, the annual golf tournament, and an assortment of sales held at the hospital. See below for a full list of scholarship winners for this year.
