Don’t forget, the sixth annual BACooN Ride is happening today, with around 2,000 riders expected to travel along the Raccoon River Valley Trail through Dallas and Guthrie counties.

The ride starts at Centennial Park in Waukee at 7 a.m., and will head north around the main loop of the trail. Along the way, participants will be stopping at 10 designated bacon stops in Dallas Center, Minburn, Perry, Jamaica, Panora, Linden, Redfield, and Adel, before finishing back in Waukee. The riders are expected to be in Perry between 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., and in Adel from noon – 6 p.m. During that time, motorists are asked to use caution, particularly at the trail crossings on highways 141 and 144 in Perry, and Highway 169 in Adel.

The event is sponsored by RAGBRAI, the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival, and the Iowa Bicycle Coalition. To learn more about BACooN Ride 6, click the link below to visit their website.
