We’re now two weeks away from the special election on the $15.75 million bond referendum for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District, and the next chance to learn more about it is tomorrow.
The District is hosting their second informational meeting tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. in the ADM High School auditorium, and attendees will be able to learn more about the proposed elementary school in Adel. The building would house all students in grades 2-4, and it’s the first step towards addressing the District’s rapid enrollment growth. Superintendent Greg Dufoe encourages voters to attend the informational meeting, regardless of which way they may be leaning on the referendum.
The latest detail on the project, which Dufoe feels could make voters more likely to pass the bond, is the tentative location of the building. At a recent special meeting, the ADM School Board approved a purchase agreement for 49 acres of land, which would place the new school on South 15th Street northwest of the Adel Family Aquatic Center. The special election will be held on June 25th, though early voting is open and can be done at the Dallas County Auditor’s Office in Adel.
