Greene County was a 5-3 Heart of Iowa Activities Conference high school baseball winner over Nevada on Friday night in Jefferson. The Rams improved to 4-7 on the season and 2-2 in the conference. Coach John Hupp’s team has won two of its last three overall and is 2-0 in the last two conference contests.

Brent Riley was the winning pitcher. The Rams had seven hits and committed the only error of the game. Greene County lef 5-0 before Nevada scored twice in the sixth and once in the seventh. Riley was two for three at the plate while Nick Breon was two for four with two runs batted in. The other hits belonged to Tyler Teeples, Austin Delp, and Joe Anderson. David Richter drove in a run.

Next up for the Rams is a home date with Saydel (Des Moines) on Monday, June 10 at Allensworth Field in Jefferson.
