The #1 ranked team in Class 4A Softball will be back in action tonight at home in Adel, as the ADM Tigers host a Raccoon River Conference match-up with Carlisle.

The Tigers have been led by stellar work inside the circle from “Ace” pitcher, Junior, Abbie Hlas.  ADM has also gotten qualify innings from eighth-grader, Aliyah Yanga who has given the Tigers a pleasant surprise boost in pitching through the early going of the season.

Tonight’s game in Adel should be a nail-biter, to say the least.  ADM is ranked #1, and Carlisle is ranked just one spot behind the Tigers in #2 spot in the cream of the crop in 4A Softball.

Carlisle has picked up quality wins over 5A schools, which represent the largest class in Iowa in High School Girls’ Athletics.  The 5A schools that have fallen to Carlisle include, Des Moines Lincoln, Indianola, and Johnston, twice.  Carlisle is currently 10-0 on the season.

In addition to Carlisle’s impressive 5A wins, the Wildcats also defeated Bondurant-Farrar in a 10-0 shutout win.  ADM also defeated Bondurant, but the score was 2-1.  ADM picked up a win on Monday against Winterset by the score of 3-0 and improved ADM’s perfect record to 7-0.

Coach, Jodi Doty and her girls will have a tall task tonight with #3 Carlisle coming to town.  If you can’t make it to tonight’s game in Adel, tune into for play-by-play action on K107-9 or stream the game online, live at raccoonvalleyradio.com.  Pregame coverage will begin at 7:00pm, with the first pitch getting tossed at 7:30.
