The Panorama girls soccer team travels to North Polk tonight for regional play.
The Lady Panthers advanced out of the first round with a 3-2 overtime victory over Creston on Wednesday. Creston got out to a fast start, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime, but Panorama stormed back behind twin sophomores Paige and Audrey Cmelik, who each scored in the second half to tie it up and force an extra period. Paige was able to deliver again with the game winner in the 86th minute to push Panorama into the next round.
Tonight they’ll face a North Polk team that enters the postseason with a 13-4 record. They dominated their first round match, beating Grand View Christian 14-0.
Tonight’s game will start at 6 p.m. at North Polk with the winner advancing to play again Monday for the spot in the state tournament.
