The ACGC baseball team is still searching for their first win of the season. The offense has been relatively cold for the gold and black to start out the summer, recording just one run in their opening three games. However, one ACGC sophomore has an opportunity to etch himself into the Charger record books tomorrow.
Newell Rogers is currently the only Charger batter to record a hit in all three games played this season. After earning the lone hit against Des Moines Christian in game two of last Thursday’s doubleheader, Rogers joined Caden Wardyn and Ben Kingery as the only Chargers to record a hit in each of the first three games of a single season. After reaching the mark last season, neither Wardyn nor Kingery were able to get a hit in game number four.
No Charger batter has recorded a hit in more than five consecutive games at any point in a single regular season and postseason combined. Rogers will get the opportunity to break the record tomorrow night in game one of the doubleheader with the Earlham Cardinals.
