The Adel Kiwanis Club has made it a mission to ensure kids in the area are able to get involved with the many youth activities offered to them. To that end, the organization is offering financial assistance to families through their “Every Kid Plays” program.
The grants range from $10 to $150 per child, and allow parents to cover entry fees and uniform costs for an assortment of activities in the Adel area. That includes youth dance, cheerleading, gymnastics, soccer, softball, baseball, basketball, volleyball, football, swimming, scouts, and band. This excludes tournament or travelling teams. Kids in kindergarten through 8th grade are eligible for financial assistance, and the activities covered are specifically those offered in the communities served within the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District.
The Kiwanis Club says the “Every Kid Plays” program is their way to give youth in the area the ability to participate in character-building activities, regardless of their family’s financial situation.
