Friday, May 17th
7:57am: An officer located a dog running freely in the 900 Block of South Chestnut Street, near children at the Bus Stop. The officer followed the dog home to 106 Sunset Place. Nancy Winger was issued a Citation for, “Animal at Large Prohibited.”
10:09am: A caller advised of an elderly female with Dementia walking in the 200 Block of South Chestnut Street. The caller advised she should not be alone away from home. The officer made contact with the female and made some calls to get her returned home safely.
12:44pm: Medicap Pharmacy requested a Welfare Check on a female in the 1000 Block of West Adams Street. The officer was familiar with the female, who was fine.
2:17pm: Ron LeMay advised of a female sitting in the rain at Walton Woods, located at 1000 West Adams Street. He was concerned for her welfare.
2:45pm: An officer attempted to stop a vehicle near Lincoln Way and Cedar Streets with a driver not wearing his seat belt. The vehicle did not stop until it pulled into the residence at 500 East Clark Street. The male driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The officer gave a short foot chase and caught up to the male in the 600 Block of North Cedar Street. The officer arrested Christopher Herbert Lawrence, 39 of Jefferson for, “Interference with Official Acts – Simple, Driving While Suspended – Simple and Fail to Wear Safety Belts – Simple.”
3:45pm: Officers were requested at the Genesis Home, located at 107 Lincoln Place for a reported Assault. The officer learned a client had thrown a cell phone at a staff member and struck her with it. The officer arrested James Christopher Tornabane-Vanderpool, 21 of Jefferson and charged him with, “Assault -Simple.”
4:56pm: An officer assisted a motorist with tire issues on Hwy. 4 south of Jefferson, near 250th Street.
10:36pm: A Traffic Stop in the 600 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Simon Andre of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
Saturday, May 18th
12:17am: A Traffic Stop on 220 th Street, near Mulberry Street resulted in Ronal Eugenio Gonzalez Argueta of MN. Being cited for, “Fail to Have a Valid Drivers License and Operation without Registration.”
12:51am: The Wild Rose casino requested officers at 777 Wild Rose Lane for a Disturbance occurring outside of the Casino. The officer spoke to a male party who had been involved in an altercation with another male, who left before the arrival of officers. The male refused to cooperate and advised he did not support criminal charges against the other male.
12:53am: A Traffic Stop on 220 th Street, near Mulberry Street resulted in Daniel Schappaugh of CO. being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
1:38am: Connie Carstens reported juveniles ringing her doorbell and running away from 1206 Riverside Drive. The officer arrived in the area after finishing up on a Traffic Stop, but did not locate anyone in the area.
11:04am: Rich Osborn reported a trailer blocking the roadway in the 200 Block of West Madison Street. The officer located a tree company cutting trees in the area. The road had been blocked for safety reasons.
11:47am: Charles Heimer reported a vehicle parked at the city’s gravel pile in the 900 Block of North Cedar Street. He advised a male was loading gravel into his vehicle. The officer located the subject, who was an employee of the City of Jefferson and learned the gravel was being used in a city alley to fill a pothole.
4:58pm: Craig Johnson requested a Welfare Check on his juvenile daughter after she ended a phone call with him. The officer made contact with the daughter, who was fine.
5:15pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 1000 Block of West Adams Street.
9:56pm: A Traffic Stop was performed with a vehicle in the 1400 Block of North Elm Street. The officer learned the driver had an outstanding Arrest Warrant and placed her in custody. Kristina Marie Jordan, 28 of Estherville was transported to the LEC for the, “Failure to Appear on Parking Ticket” Warrant from Emmet County.
11:51pm: An officer responded to the Cobble stone Hotel at 771 Wild Rose Lane for a Fire Alarm. It was determined the elevator had overheated, but no fire was present. No damage was reported.
Sunday, May 19th
12:33am: An officer performed a Traffic Stop with a speeding vehicle in the 1800 Block of North Elm Street. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of James Michael Gorman, 50 of New York for, “OWI 1 st Offense – Serious, Possession of Controlled Substance/marijuana 1st Offense – Serious, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Simple, Excessive Speed – Simple and Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability – Simple.”
9:11am: Wild Rose Casino staff advised of a Suspicious Vehicle located behind 777 Wild Rose Lane. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.
4:06pm: Oly’s Corner reported a Gas Drive Off from 208 West Lincoln Way Street. A subject left without paying for $39.52 in fuel. The store was later contacted by the subject and the debt was paid.
4:50pm: An officer performed a Traffic Stop in the 1900 Block on North Elm Street. During the stop, the driver provided the officer with a false name and date of birth. When confronted with this by the officer, the male gave his real identity. The officer learned the male had an Outstanding Webster County Arrest Warrant for, “Theft 4th Degree.” The officer arrested Tony J Scalf, 45 of NE. for, “Providing False Identification Information – Simple, Driving While Suspended – Simple, and Improper Rear Lamps.” Scalf will be transported to Webster County to face the outstanding warrant after leaving Greene County Jail.
6:41pm: A Traffic Stop on 220th Street, near Mulberry Street resulted in Jose Munoz of Denison being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
7:03pm: Sparky’s One Stop reported the Theft of a CB Radio Speaker from 606 Hwy. 30 East. The business provided the officer with a female suspect. The investigation continues.
9:00pm: Jeremiah Pedersen reported a Criminal Mischief to a window at his residence of 903 West Adams Street. The officer believes the window and screened were damaged by a BB gun. The damage estimate was $250.00 to replace the glass and screen.
9:08pm: Teresa Gaver reported the Theft of Prescription Meds from 1000 West Adams Street, #6. She could not provide the number of missing items and advised she last saw them two months ago.
