Guthrie County Hospital recently received help from the Guthrie County Community Foundation to make improvements to their fitness center.

The Foundation awarded them an $18,112.50 grant to purchase four new treadmills and two new NuStep cross trainers. CEO Pat Peters explains why they were in need of new equipment, “Well, I’d like to say it’s because the wellness center members are in such great shape, you know they basically wore the equipment out. So that’s it basically, it’s just worn out machines at the end of their life expectancy. So (we) really had a need for new equipment, they were breaking down, we were trying to harvest parts to keep them going, so having this new equipment will be great.”

Peters says they are in the process of receiving all the new equipment. The Guthrie County Hospital Fitness Center offers memberships and classes to the public.
