The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

The meeting began with an update from Conservation Director Joe Hanner. He said some weather-related delays to the electrical upgrade project at Nations Bridge Park may mean a delay in opening for campers for the summer. Next, Public and Environmental Health Director Jotham Arber gave an update. He mentioned that mental health will be the focus of this year’s health fair which he plans on holding around Panorama Days in August.

The Board then approved several health care, dental, and benefits plan renewals as presented by Human Resources Director Pam Lane. She also informed the Board of a “benefits fair” being held at the courthouse and health services building this week, with representatives from the Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System, Aflac and Nationwide Insurance.

The Board then approved a payment of about $326,486 in principal and interest due June 1st for a wind farm tax increment financing general obligation bond. Finally, the Board approved authorizing the third periodic transfer of funds from the county general basic fund to the county conservation reserve fund, and approved authorizing the transfer of $4,000 from the county records management fund to the county general basic fund.
