The ACGC track and field teams took full advantage of the short trip to Panorama Friday night. The Chargers secured a combined eleven entries to the 2019 Iowa High School Co-Ed State Track and Field Meet.

The girls will be taking at least five entries to the blue oval. Junior Kate Crawford will represent the gold and black in the 1500, and 3000 meter runs after winning both. She also placed 2nd in the 800. Senior Madison McDermott placed 2nd in the shot put and the 4×800 medley relay team with senior Lauryn Embleton and sophomores Audrey Stowe, Jorja Hoover, and Rylee Sloss also placed 2nd to advance. The girls also earned several 3rd place finishes, including: senior Savana Fuller in the 100 meter dash, McDermott in the discus, freshman Chloe Largent in the high jump (ACGC record 5-02), and the distance medley relay team.

The boys earned six automatic qualifications. Seniors Noah Nelsen and Clay Billheimer picked up three 1st place finishes between them. Nelsen won the 1600 and 3200 while Billheimer was the 800 meter champion. The two other individual titles went to senior Dylan Soper in the 100 meter dash and junior Quynton Younker with a new ACGC record 47-01.00 in the shot put. The boys distance medley relay team also took top honors with Billheimer, Soper, senior Gabe Rowley, and junior Austin Wierick. Junior Sam Madsen also placed 3rd in the shot put.

The girls placed 3rd with 82.5 points and the boys finished in 2nd with 98. Panorama and Greene County were girls and boys district champions with 175 and 115 points respectively.
