The Perry Area Food Pantry was the site of this month’s Chamber Coffee event, hosted by the Perry Chamber of Commerce.
It took place at the old Rowley Masonic Community building on Willis Avenue, where Site Manager Lou Hoger welcomed everyone and educated them on the efforts of the pantry and the clientele they serve. He also talked about their needs, which include a new freezer, commodity scales, a permanent home with greater refrigeration capacity, and a succession plan for when he can no longer operate the site. After the presentation, Hoger and other food shelf volunteers gave a tour of the facility. Attendees were then able to network with each other, and learn about other happenings in the City of Perry.
The Chamber Coffees are held the second Friday of every month, each time at a different location.
