Two members of the Dallas County Hospital Board of Trustees joined a group of 76 others from around the state to be recognized for their efforts to become certified.

Board members Julie Connolly and Tray Wade completed the certification process through the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA), and were honored recently at a ceremony in Des Moines. The IHA Hospital Board Certification program gives hospital trustees and governing boards a framework to demonstrate their individual and collective commitment to their roles and responsibilities. The process of certification involves 12 hours of education on health care, and confirmation that the hospital governance is utilizing best practices. Through the program, the IHA says trustees and boards show their communities and local decision-makers their hospital’s commitment to serving their best interests.

Connelly and Wade are two of more than 230 trustees around Iowa who are currently certified by the IHA, representing 22 hospital boards.
