Another Democratic presidential candidate has scheduled a visit to Dallas County, with former Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke making a trip to Adel this Tuesday.

O’Rourke is making his third trip to Iowa since announcing his intention to run for President of the United States, though this is his first time visiting the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area. Dallas County Democratic Party Chair Bryce Smith will open his home to the candidate and the public for a free campaign party at 9 a.m. Tuesday. The residence is located at 614 Court Street in Adel. O’Rourke will discuss his plans to tackle climate change and address rural-specific needs, in addition to other topics at the meet and greet. RSVPs are not required.

O’Rourke is the latest Democratic presidential candidate to visit Dallas County, and the second within a few days as Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders visits Perry Saturday afternoon. He’s one of currently 20 individuals vying for the democratic nomination, with the first step being the 2020 Iowa Caucuses. Other candidates who have already visited Dallas County include: former Maryland Congressman John Delaney and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, who stopped in Perry; Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard and California Businessman Andrew Yang, who attended the Dallas County Democrats annual fundraiser; and New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, who visited Waukee.
