The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors convened in regular session Tuesday.

The meeting began with an information technology update from Curt Thornberry of Guthrie Center Communications. Next, tThe Board received an update from Barry Monaghan and Chris Carlson of Guthrie County State Bank on the County’s wind farm tax increment financing (TIF) general obligation bond. They stated the bond is set to have a readjustment on June 1st, and they expect the interest rate to increase to 4.37%. They also discussed the procedures and terms to draw an additional $2 million on the bond, for which no action was taken by the Board.

Following that, County Engineer Josh Sebern and Guthrie County Emergency Management Coordinator Bob Kempf discussed the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s disaster assistance requirements, and that the secondary roads and conservation departments will have to apply separately instead of the County as a whole. No public comments were made during a public hearing for a fiscal year 2019 budget amendment for the purchase of two trucks and a skid loader for the Transfer Station. The Board then approved adopting the amendment, and scheduled a public hearing for a second amendment on May 28th. Finally, the Board approved the third quarter expense report from New Opportunities and approved a fireworks permit for the Lake Panorama Association.
