The Adel Police Department is once again partnering with the Adel Rotary Club to present the second annual Safety Bike Rodeo, which will be held Saturday.

The event will run from 9 a.m. – noon at the shared parking lot of the Adel Public Library and City Hall. It’s open to kids from ages 5 to 12, and all attendees will leave with police badges, homemade cookies, frozen treats, and bottled water. During the program, officers will teach the children about proper bike safety, including proper protective equipment and the rules of the road. There will also be an obstacle course for the kids to try. Additionally, attendees can enter to win prizes, which include boys and girls bike helmets, a bike repair kit, and coupons to local businesses.

Participants can come and go throughout the event, and they don’t need to be present in order to win prizes. There is no cost to attend the Adel Safety Bike Rodeo, and no registration is required.
