Fundraising for the Perry Sesquicentennial Celebration is continuing to progress, and the planning committee is keeping the momentum going with another trivia contest this week.

The second of three Sesquicentennial Trivia events will be Thursday at 6:30 p.m., and it will once again be held at La Poste. Perry Chamber of Commerce Director Lynsi Pasutti said the committee hosted a successful event at the beginning of April, and they’re hopeful for more of the same with their second offering. She emphasizes that the contest isn’t just for trivia buffs. “You don’t need to know everything about Perry, (and) you might learn something about Perry. So get a team together and join us for that, it’s just $10 per person (with) teams of up to eight. So it’s just a nice way to kind of build excitement up leading to the event. By the May one, we’ll have preorders for commemorative coins and t-shirts, and then hopefully by June we’ll actually have items right there for sale.”

Raccoon Valley Radio’s Chris Cohea will once again serve as emcee for the event. Pasutti adds, anyone who registers their team by tomorrow can select a category. Preregistration can be done at the Perry Public Library or at the Chamber Office in the Towncraft Building. The final Sesquicentennial Trivia event will be held Thursday, June 6th.
