The annual Dallas County Toddler Fest is Saturday, with all 12 County libraries set to take part.
The event is co-sponsored by the Dallas County Library Association and 4RKids, and Perry Public Library Director Mary Murphy says its purpose each year is to promote the free services and activities available to families with young children. The festivities are free to attend and will be held at the Dallas County Fairgrounds north of Adel from 10 a.m. – noon. Specific activities include face-painting, balloon creations, a petting zoo, crafts, and photo opportunities with the stars of Pixar’s “Toy Story” franchise. Additionally, each child will leave with a free book.
Murphy encourages attendees to get there early to beat the long lines and get as much time as they can with all the services offered. “Daycares and preschools are there, all the County services are there. If your business is focused on toddlers and family services, then they’re there. And we make it fun for you to come and entertain your toddler! Be prepared that a lot of people are going to be there, but we try to set it up so everybody has a chance to get their free book and you get a chance to do everything.”
The Raccoon Valley Radio Big Red Radio will also once again be at the event, as we will broadcast live, play music, and provide public address services.
