Today is the big day for Greene County Relay for Life!

The main event is from 9:30am to 2pm at the Greene County Community Center. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio is broadcasting live from 9am to noon. The morning activities include the start of the silent auction, registration of teams, a 50/50 cash raffle and the cancer survivor/caregiver reception, followed by the survivor/caregiver walk. The 5K run/walk will start at 10:45, pending inclement weather otherwise it will be held inside the community center, and the free-will donation barbecue meal is from 11am to 1pm.

The entertainment will be inside the community center from 11am to 1pm. The activities including the Prairie Blue dancers, “Find Your Super Talent” contest, Power-Fully Fun Games, recognition of sponsors and the announcement of the Team Spirit Award. The luminaria ceremony, featuring the Greene County Singers, will end the event starting at 1:50pm.

All proceeds from the event will be given to the American Cancer Society.
