Greene County won the boys’ division of the Tiger-Knight Coed Relays at Carroll Athletic Field on Thursday. The victory was the second in as many meets for the Coach Chad Morton’s Rams, who took the title at the Ram Relays in Jefferson on Monday. Greene County scored 95.5 points with 77 for Denison-Schleswig, 74 for both Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln and Atlantic, and 71.5 points for Carroll.

Coach Morton told Raccoon Valley Radio he was happy with the effort of the athletes. “Winning a second meet in a row is good for our confidence and unity of our kids. We had more PR’s (Personal Records) and Season Bests (SB). This is a fun group to coach!

Getting first place for the Rams were Carter Morton in the high jump (6′ 3″), Colby Kafer in the long jump (21′ 1″), Tyler Miller in the shot put (47′ 5-3/4”), Kafer in the 100 meter dash (:11.44), 4 x 200 meter relay in 1:35.56 with Tyler Teeples, Jaxon Warnke, Brent Riley, Kafer, Morton in the 110 meter high hurdles (:15.54), and 4 x 100 meter relay in :45.32 with Teeples, Morton, Riley, and Kafer.

Last night was the deadline for submitting performances to qualify for the April 25-26-27 Drake Relays in Des Moines. The tentative qualifier list is expected to be released this afternoon. Carter Morton is an automatic qualifier in the high jump, and the Rams are hoping at least some other events qualify on an at-large basis.
