The ACGC boys track and field team claimed another title Thursday as they won the Wildcat Relays at West Central Valley in Stuart. The team totaled 127 points in the victory.
Seniors Clay Billheimer and Noah Nelsen went 1-2 in the 800 and 1600 meter runs, with Billheimer winning the former and Nelsen claiming the later. Nelsen also was the first across the line in the 3200, but was one of three athletes disqualified due to lane violations. The Chargers also won the distance medley relay, represented by seniors Dylan Soper and Gabe Rowley, junior Austin Wierick, and freshman Charlie Crawford and the 4×800 relay with Rowley, Crawford, Nelsen, and Billheimer. Other top-three finishes for boys included: the sprint medley relay (2nd), Soper (2nd-100 and 200), Wierick (3rd-200), Crawford (3rd-long jump), and junior Quynton Younker (3rd-shot put).
On the girls side, junior Kate Crawford and senior Madison McDermott continued to accumulate individual titles. Crawford swept the 800, 1500, and 3000 meter runs, while also anchoring the winning distance medley team with junior Reagan Rumelhart, senior Savana Fuller, and sophomore Audrey Stowe. McDermott swept the discus and shot put. Other top-three finishes for the girls included: Fuller (2nd-200; 3rd-100), senior Lauryn Embleton (2nd-1500 and 3000; 3rd-800), Stowe (3rd-400 meter hurdles), Madalyn Kelsey (3rd-shot put), and the 4×800 meter relay (2nd).
