From religious practices to simple living, much can be learned about “Our Neighbors, the Amish,” at two events in Guthrie County next week.

The Panora Public Library will be hosting speakers Don and Diana Kramer, who will talk about the lifestyle of the Amish people and serve Amish baked treats. Panora Library Director Kim Finnegan says this is the first time they are holding this program, “It’s a man and a lady that come to the library and they’re Amish and they talk about their ways of living and they also make snacks and bring them to the public. And I do find this very interesting as they have been to other libraries and I think this would be a great program to see.”

“Our Neighbors, the Amish” will take place from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, April 24th at the Panora Public Library. Can’t make it that day? The program will also be held Thursday, the 25th from 2-4 p.m. at the Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library in Guthrie Center.
