The ACGC track and field teams got the week off to a good start Monday. The boys team took 3rd at Greene County while the girls grabbed 5th place at Bondurant-Farrar.

On the boys side, seniors Clay Billheimer and Noah Nelsen went 1-2 in the 800 meter run. Billheimer also took 1st in the 1600 while Nelsen finished 2nd in the 3200. The other top finish for the gold and black went to the 4×800 meter relay team. Sophomore Lucas Marsh, senior Gabe Rowley, freshman Charlie Crawford, and Nelsen cruised to a time of 9:04.75, nearly 20 seconds ahead of 2nd place Greene County. That time is the fastest in the last two years for the Chargers in that event. Junior Kolby Jacobe also recorded a personal best of 56.84, as he placed 3rd in the 400 meter dash. The other top-three finish for the boys went to Rowley, placing 3rd in the 400 meter hurdles.

On the girls side, junior Kate Crawford and senior Madison McDermott continue to grab titles. Crawford took another 1500 meter title, while McDermott grabbed the top spot in the shot put. Crawford also finished 2nd in the 3000 and 3rd in the 800. The 4×800 meter relay team grabbed the silver for the other top three finish for the Charger girls.

The boys finished with 89 team points and the girls grabbed 79.5. Greene County and Pella were the champions at Greene County and Bondurant-Farrar respectively. The Chargers wrap up the week on Thursday at West Central Valley in Stuart. To view complete results, click on the links below:
