The Perry City Council convened Monday evening in regular session.
The meeting began with consideration of the health, dental, and vision insurance renewals for City Employees. Skip Lowe of Bernie Lowe and Associates gave a presentation to the Council outlining the changes, which included an 8.43% increase in the health insurance plan through Wellmark, as well as a 3.5% increase in the dental plan through Principal. The Council approved the contracts, which will be active through June of 2020. Following that, they approved a grant application to the Iowa Department of Transportation for a new fuel system at the Perry Municipal Airport.
Next, the Council approved the reappointment of Kim Herrera to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, and a letter of support to the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs to redesignate the Raccoon River Valley Trail as an “Iowa Great Place.” Finally, the Council approved a service agreement with the Drees Company to perform major maintenance on all of the City-owned facilities twice a year.
