Certain nonprofit organizations in Adair and Guthrie counties are now eligible for public assistance as a result of flooding last month.
The U.S. Small Business Administration recently announced that low-interest federal disaster loans are available to private nonprofit organizations that provide essential services of a governmental nature in those counties. This follows an amendment to President Trump’s April 5th major disaster declaration. SBA may lend private nonprofits up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets. The deadline to apply for property damage is June 4th, and for economic injury is January 6th, 2020. For a link to apply click here.
